Just people
Our Visual Communications faculty believes in helping students individually one-on-one and in team situations outside the classroom. All of our faculty have worked professionally in the visual communications industry. It is this industry involvement that is critical to the success of our graduates. The faculty and staff guide students through their career choices at OSU-Okmulgee and mentor each student to develop his or her own strengths. Our instructors use various methods of teaching such as hands-on projects coupled with examples and demonstrations. Because our industry is changing all the time we stress the importance of research with reading and writing assignments followed up by lectures. Many of our class projects involve interacting with other students, teachers and groups from the business world. We encourage student knowledge and inspiration by displaying student work in our lobby, halls and classrooms. Regularly we hold constructive critiques and project presentations throughout each semester. This helps students ready themselves, their ideas, and skills for industry. Faculty and staff helping students reach their goals for entering the industry is the hallmark of the Visual Communications Division.
